Everyone always looks forward to Elizabeth Shorrock [one of our own members] and her book making workshops and this month we made a book with cross structured binding. We began with two pieces of fabric which we bonded to both sides of a piece of paper. The pieces for the cover were then cut out after tracing around a template. They were then stitched around the edge.
Seven signatures of four pages were folded and holes made for sewing. The signatures were sewn together over the arms of the other half of the cover. Finally the other arms of the cover were attached with glue.
Members were very pleased with the result and some even started a second book. Thank you Elizabeth.
