December Meeting 2019

Our members arrived laden down with food, sewing things, Leprechaun Leapabouts and presents for Secret Santa.
These were then placed on the appropriately decorated tables.
The Leprechaun leapabouts were beautiful and had been started the month before with Joanna.

It always amazes me that we can start with the same pattern and end with something so varied.
Bev then led the next part of the meeting and introduced us to felt owls.
Most of us had decided to use these as Christmas decorations and had brought appropriate colours. We could also use as a bag to put a present inside.

A few members decided to be more adventurous and make a flamingo.

By lunchtime most members had nearly finished making their owls and flamingos and would take them home to complete.
They all looked very pretty and a thank you to Bev for leading the session
Our Jacob's Join food was unwrapped and was enjoyed by everyone.
We then drew names from the hat for the Secret Santa and everyone took home a present.
It was a good meeting and despite the fact that the heating had failed we managed to have a good time.
Happy Christmas to everyone!

Knitting and Stitching Show, Harrogate, November 2019

The Knitting and Stitching Show is not just about buying items it is also looking at and being inspired by the displays.
There was a wonderful eye-catching display of knitting and it must have been a mammoth task to join the pieces together .

The Embroiderers Guild also had an inspiring display on homes which seemed to cover every kind of home.

There was some interesting stitching advertising the E.G. online courses.

The Knitting and Stitching show is always a good day out even if you are very tired at the end of the day.
